Meet Anders Røn – PhD Fellow at CHC

Anders Røn has recently joined the Center for Humanities Computing (CHC) at Aarhus University as a PhD fellow, where he will be working at the intersection of Research Data Management (RDM) and AI. His project focuses on developing and testing RDM workflows designed to support data-intensive research fields working with unstructured data.

Anders’ interest in RDM and AI emerged during his time as an intern at CHC and was further shaped through his work as a data manager at the Departments of Political Science and Management at Aarhus BSS. Here, he became aware of the limited research conducted in this area, which ultimately motivated him to pursue a PhD and explore these challenges in greater depth.

His PhD project is affiliated with and partly funded by the CRIES project, led by Katrine Laigaard Baunvig, and will focus specifically on cultural heritage data. Through this work, Anders aims to develop workflows that are not only technically robust but also practically useful for researchers working with complex and unstructured datasets.

With an academic background rooted in the humanities, Anders holds a BA in English literature, linguistics, and society, as well as an MA in linguistics. He brings a multidisciplinary perspective to his work, combining insights from literature, linguistics, and history with hands-on experience in data management and data science.

Although he is still in the early stages of his project, Anders aims to demonstrate the value of a diverse skill set in tackling complex research challenges. In addition to producing academic research, he hopes his work will contribute to fostering a broader culture of research data management within CORE, supported by emerging AI solutions.

At CHC, Anders is particularly looking forward to collaborating with colleagues across disciplines and contributing to a dynamic and innovative research environment.

We are pleased to welcome Anders to CHC and look forward to following the development and impact of his research!
