Meet Rytis Mikutavičius – New Cloud Engineer at CHC
Rytis Mikutavičius joined CHC as a student assistant in 2023 and has since proven himself to be a skilled and dedicated colleague. We’re pleased to welcome him into a full-time position as Cloud Engineer and look forward to the continued collaboration his new role will bring.
With a background in Electronics and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Aarhus University, Rytis brings solid technical expertise in cloud computing and software engineering, along with a strong interest in AI, machine learning, and embedded systems.
As our backend representative in the DeiC Interactive HPC Consortium, he plays a key role in the development and maintenance of the UCloud platform. His responsibilities include deploying applications, providing technical support, and helping researchers turn their ideas into practical, cloud-based solutions. He also contributes to teaching activities - from developing courses to running workshops on the effective use of the platform.Originally from Plungė, Lithuania, Rytis is one of many international team members at CHC who contribute to the diversity and depth of our work environment. His journey from student employee to full-time staff is a testament to the opportunities for growth and development within CHC.Rytis is passionate about making a meaningful contribution to research infrastructure. For him, one of the most rewarding aspects of his work is seeing the tools and systems he has helped build being actively used by researchers and educators. Whether setting up servers, debugging code, or consulting on AI tools, Rytis combines technical precision with a highly cooperative approach.
