This workshop is designed specifically to enable students to enrich how they approach their subject-matter knowledge with digital tools and computational technologies. The main focus will be to understand how to convert real-world problems into problems which can be approached using computational methods. Students will acquire key skills in computational thinking, such as decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithmic thinking.
After participating in this workshop, students will be able to approach their own studies from the perspective of computational thinking and to think more concretely about the specific steps involved when studying data from those disciplines using digital tools. The workshop will be of interest to all students in the arts and humanities, and requires no previous programming experience.
